Barnsley's match at Ipswich could be called off on Friday if weather forecasts are correct and Suffolk is blanketed with snow.
Temperatures in Ipswich are not expected to rise above zero degrees over the weekend and snow has been falling heavily on the town, forcing 37 schools to close on Friday.
The Tractor Boys’ Portman Road pitch is well protected by covers and is likely to be playable but the match could be postponed if the roads around the ground are deemed unsafe for fans.
Barnsley will be in contact with Ipswich all day today and hope that a decision will be made either way tonight to prevent Reds fans setting off tomorrow but having to turn back.
