Wiseman could still leave Oakwell

Scott Wiseman’s move from Oakwell could still go ahead despite a transfer to Blackpool collapsing this week.

The Reds accepted a six-figure sum for the full-back on Monday but he failed to agree personal terms with the Seasiders, although Blackpool manager Michael Appleton is linked with the vacant Blackburn job.

Caretaker boss David Flitcroft said: “If Appleton goes to Blackburn, which I believe is possibly imminent, then it could happen for Scott. I do know there are three or four clubs that fancy Scott and he needs to move on.

“The emergence of John Stones and the love that the fans have for Bobby Hassell have put Scott in a difficult position.”
