Barnsley's top scorer Craig Davies has been called up to the Wales squad.
The star striker, who has bagged seven league goals this season, was called up by Chris Coleman after an injury to Craig Bellamy.
Davies, 26, made five appearances for Wales in his younger years but hasn't played for the nation since 2008. He qualifies to represent Wales through a grandfather.
He will go straight into the squad for this Friday's clash with Scotland and next week's visit to Croatia.
Davies told the Chronicle: "It's a proud moment for me. I've spoken before about how much my nan and granddad mean to me and it's no secret that I give them credit for what I've achieved. My granddad used to take me to games when I was younger and he'll be watching the game on Friday night.
"I've been working hard this season so in one sense I'm not shocked to get the call-up. But it still did come as a bit of a surprise when the call came on Sunday."
A full interview with Davies will appear in this week's Chronicle.
