Sunday 23rd September 2012
Toni Silva was stretchered off.

Barnsley's development squad went down 5-2 at home to Leicester in heavy rain on Monday.

There was a further blow for the Reds as summer signing Toni Silva had to stretchered off early in the second half.

The Reds went 2-0 ahead but the visitors drew level then Martyn Waghorn hit a hat-tick to win the game.W aghorn was part of a strikeforce with plenty of Championship experience as he partnered Marko Futacs, a summer transfer target for Barnsley.

The Reds fielded several first team players in Luke Steele, Rob Edwards, Matt Done and David Perkins.Danny Rose put Barnsley ahead on 13 minutes with his fifth goal in six games after a fine run and cross by makeshift right-back Sam Patterson.

Converted left-back Reuben Noble-Lazarus then floated in a cross which Zak Whitbread inexplicably diverted past Conrad Logan who has also been a Barnsley target.

But Harry Panayiotoy headed in then Luke Dobie levelled with a wonderful free-kick. Steele came to the rescue several times but Waghorn won it for Leicester.
