Injury crisis continues ahead of Blackpool clash

Thursday 13th September 2012
Rob Edwards contests a decision.

Keith Hill is disappointed that none of Barnsley’s injured players have recovered over the international break.

Rob Edwards was in contention to face his former club Blackpool tomorrow but he picked up another injury as an over-age player for the under 21 side on Tuesday.

Matt Done, Jim McNulty, David Perkins, Paul Digby and Toni Silva are all expected back in training over the next two weeks. They are unlikely to feature against Blackpool tomorrow or Blackburn on Tuesday but could return at Birmingham next Saturday.

Mido and Jim O’Brien are struggling with long-term hamstring and shoulder injuries respectively and they will be out until at least November.

Hill said: “I am disappointed with the response the players’ bodies have had to the treatment we have been giving them. The injuries are lasting that little bit longer than we expected which is frustrating but I won’t bring them back too soon.”
