Dodworth woman Sue Gilroy is out of the London Olympics after losing to South Korean Moon Sung Hye on Friday.
The Dodworth woman, who is a teacher at Shawlands Primary School, and her opponent both won against Egyptian Falia Ahmed the day before to set up a winner-takes-all match to win group D and progress to the semi-finals.
Gilroy lost the first set 11-9 then won the second 11-8. The third set went to a nail-biting tie-break which the South Korean won 14-12 before taking the fourt set 11-5 to complete the win.
Ian Sagar, 30, from Hoyland Common, scored 11 points but the GB wheelchair basketball team went down 77-72 to Germany in front of 18,000 people in the North Greenwich Arena on Thursday night.
GB were 11 points behind after the first period but fought their way back to 66-66 after four sessions and the match went into over-time. Germany came out on top in the added period.
GB will now play four games over the next four days in the hope of finishing in the top two in their group and making the semi-finals.
