Barnsley kept their first clean sheet for 14 matches as they beat Portsmouth 2-0 at Oakwell.
Jim O'Brien made his first start of 2012 and scored the opener after 76 minutes before Matt Done secured the win in the last minute.
Portsmouth, who will be docked at least ten points after entering administration on Friday, had striker Dave Kitson sent off on 40 minutes when he was given a second yellow card for clattering into Korey Smith.
Otherwise there was little action in the first half as Craig Davies hit the bar and Erik Huseklepp fired just wide. David Perkins came off injured and was replaced by Jay McEveley with Jim McNulty moving into midfield.
After the break, Barnsley struggled exploit their man advantage until O'Brien curled into the bottom right corner from 20 yards. It was the Scotsman's first goal since he returned from injuries which kept him out for seven weeks.
In the third minute of injury time, Done ran onto a long ball, charged down a clearance by Hayden Mullins and finished well.
