New signing David Cotterill is looking to getting his career back on track with Barnsley.

Cotterill, 24, was released on a free transfer by Swansea last month and was snapped up by Reds' boss Keith Hull until the end of the season.

The winger, who has played 19 times for Wales, told the Chronicle: "I’ve not really played in the last year or so and I really appreciate the opportunity that has been given to me at Barnsley and I want to repay the manager and David Flitcroft.

“I heard of Barnsley’s interest about three weeks ago and after speaking to Keith Hill I became excited and knew that this was the right move for me.

"I was impressed when I talked to the manager and although I don’t have match fitness, I am fit and raring to go. Hopefully I can play as many games as possible and then I will assess how things are at the end of the season. If I do well and the manager wants to keep me beyond that then we can talk.”
