Delighted Dawson must wait for debut

Stephen Dawson says joining Barnsley is a ‘dream come true’ but if frustrated that an ankle injury will delay his debut for a few weeks.
The 26-year-old Irish midfielder joined the Reds on transfer deadline day from Leyton Orient, where he was captain, but will not be able to play until mid-February at the earliest.
“It’s very frustrating being injured as I just want to get playing and working with the new lads," Dawson told the Chronicle.
“No matter what is happening I give it my all and I’m not afraid to tackle and get up and down the pitch. I am very excited and looking forward to the challenge of the Championship.
“I am really excited and this is a dream come true for me to play at this level and for a club like Barnsley.
“Keith Hill and David Flitcroft have shown a lot of faith in me and I aim to step up to the standard and repay them with some good performances.”
