Barnsley manager Keith Hill says the club have rejected a 'derisory' bid from West Ham for top-scorer Ricardo Vaz Te.

Hammers' boss Sam Allardyce is keen to recruit the Portuguese attacking midfielder who he brought to England as a teenager at Bolton Wanderers.

Hill says that is the only official approach for Vaz Te – who has 12 goals this season – but the Oakwell boss does not expect the player to stay at Oakwell long.

"I think it is highly unlikely that Ricardo will stay with us after his contract runs out at the end of the season," said Hill.

"He is right to consider his options and his fantastic performances this season have opened up numerous opportunities for him. He is probably going to move on either in the summer or in this transfer window.

"We have had one for him bid so far. It was from West Ham and was derisory when you consider the amount paid for other players who are out of contract in the summer like Wes Morgan who has apparently joined Leicester from Nottingham Forest for £1million."
