Reds reel in Tonge

Barnsley have signed Stoke City midfielder Michael Tonge to Oakwell on loan until the end of the season.

Manchester-born Tonge began his career at Sheffield United where he made more than 300 appearances before joining Stoke for £2million in 2008.

The 28-year-old has struggled at the Britannia Stadium and has started just once in the Premier League. He has been loaned out to Preston North End and Derby County who he could make his Barnsley debut against on Tuesday.
