Andy Gray hopes his two goals at Leicester will start a run that could earn him a new contract at Oakwell.
The 34-year-old striker is in his third season with the Reds and made his 83rd Barnsley appearance at Leicester on Saturday which surpassed the amount of games he has played for any of his ten former clubs.
Gray’s contract runs out in the summer and to score the goals that will convince manager Keith Hill to keep him at the club.
“I have only started 13 games this season and I was out from November with an injury,’ Gray told the Chronicle.
“It would be nice to get a run in the team and score some more goals. I know I have got a couple of seasons left in me and I would love to have a few more years at Barnsley.
“I have been here for three seasons and I have really enjoyed it. I am always going to work with a smile on my face because of the atmosphere that the gaffer and Flicker (David Flitcroft) create. I would love to be involved in that again next season.”
