Andy Gray scored his fifth and sixth goal of the season as Barnsley got their first ever win at Leicester's King Power Stadium.
The victory meantthe Reds leapfrogged the Foxes in the Championship table and gained their fourth away win of the season which was more than they managed in the whole of last term.
Gray, who replaced Craig Davies in thr starting line-up, finished well in the 12th minute after Ricardo Vaz Te and Danny Drinkwater had combined superbly on the left.
Lloyd Dyer levelled three minutes later but the Reds got back in front before half-time when Vaz Te and Drinkwater once again combined to set up Gray who netted with an excellent header.
