Spinks conquers Pyrenees
By ANDREW LODGE
NICKY Spinks, of Penistone Footpath Runners, was the first lady home in the Grand Paid des Pyrenees race at Vielle-Aure in France.
She produced a sensational performance to finish more than three hours clear of the second-placed woman over the gruelling 150km course.
Spinks crossed the line in 19th overall in a time of 30-14.
The route includes 10,000 metres of climbing on the mountain range. Less than half of the 761 participants completed the race.
