Top mark for speed ace Davies

MARK Davies has won the Thundersport 250cc British Championship. The 29-year-old from Silkstone Common finished top of the leaderboard during his first season back in the saddle following a two-year break. He clocked up an impressive 16 wins out of 22 races with two seconds and a fourth place finish. Mark received his honours at a ceremony at Mallory Park on Saturday night and was delighted with his achievements following a break from the sport. He said: "I had been racing at all different levels for about 10 years and guess I was just going through the motions. “I had two years off and was desperate to get back racing again. A friend of mine, Dean Hobson, gave me the opportunity by supplying the bike and helping to maintain it. “It was just for fun at first but then I started picking up a few wins and began to get more into it. “I just went from strength to strength."
