Throughout her time on the labour suite she was looked after by Suzanne.
In her nomination, Jannine said: "Suzanne was a great support to me throughout my labour not only with her confidence and professionalism which certainly put me at ease but it really helped to have someone who was friendly, smiling and supportive throughout and this made the experience much easier for me."
Suzanne said: "I'm really honoured to be nominated for this award. It is a pleasure to look after the women of Barnsley and it is nice to receive this recognition."

Wayne Padgett, managing director of Haywood and Padgett Ltd chose to sponsor the new business category because almost 30 years ago he and his business partner at the time became a ‘start up’ business. In 1987 when located in Wombwell they borrowed £5,000 from the Yorkshire Bank to enable them to bake and cut scones by hand and supply the local market traders.
Now in 2014 Wayne and his family are involved in continually developing the business. Wayne’s eldest daughter Rebecca can be found at the bakery seven days a week, learning the ropes and working alongside her dad.
Some of the successes of the business are that Haywood and Padgett Ltd now supplies most major supermarkets with scones and over the last two years have developed business in Australia in a major food chain and in Japan in Karaoke bars. Wayne is currently aiming to gain business in China. Last year Bridget Pearson of Your Bridge to China accompanied Wayne and Rebecca to the International Food Trade Fare in Guagzhoo to support growth in the Chinese Market. Bridget is in China building relationships with key contacts to promote Haywood and Padgett products.
For the past 2 years they have been finalists in the National Food Awards, (the Oscars of the food industry), which is a great achievement. They have also just been given a silver award by BMBC Public Health and the NHS for the way in which they care for their staff.
Wayne said: “Whilst the business is a success story for Barnsley we are always developing new ideas to keep us in the market. Last year we launched a new range called Becky’s Bakery and have created some exciting new flavours and fruit combinations which are ready to promote this year.
“Our latest development is a long-life product that is stirring up interest from buyers.
“Haywood and Padgett Ltd is delighted to be sponsoring the Proud of Barnsley Awards for the third year running. I believe it is important to encourage start-up businesses to help sustain growth and development for the town, offering continued employment for Barnsley people.”
