Mum told she is not in labour

A WOMAN who was told by hospital staff that she was not in labour has given birth to a baby boy at her home in Wombwell.

Michelle Lavender, 22, of Bond Street, was sent home from Barnsley hospital on two occasions last Friday after being told the pains she was having were not contractions.

Partner John Batty, 24, said: "She was a week late and started getting pains which we thought were contractions. We rushed her to hospital but they said she wasn't in labour.

"We returned home and the pains got worse so in the early hours of Saturday morning I took her back, they again told her she wasn't in labour.

"Two hours later, I delivered our baby boy in our bedroom."
