UFO mystery solved - it was just John's balloons

A BUSINESSMAN says he has solved the mystery of the UFOs seen over Barnsley in recent weeks.

They have not travelled as far as some people thought - Cundy Cross.

The Firework Guy, also known as John Hebdon, has been testing a new product called the Fire in the Sky Balloon. He says the times he has launched them match with the times of sightings reported in the Chronicle last month.

John, who runs the company fireworkguy.co.uk from his shop on Grange Lane, said: "When we set the first one off, we said we'd end up in the Chronicle because people would say they were UFOs. We had a bit of a joke about it. But because I've been busy and out of town quite a bit, I've only just seen the stories in the Chronicle."

The standard one costs £3 and burns for about 15 to 20 minutes.
