Nigel sires the best-bred boars

NIGEL the boar produces such tasty piglets he has sent pork sales through the roof at Cannon Hall farm shop.

He's has fathered more than 400 piglets this year alone and his latest litter has just arrived at the farm.

He is considered to be a fine example of the meaty Duroc breed which originated in America in the 1830s. Farmer and manager of Cannon Hall Farm Robert Nicholson says the breed is famous for its red muscular meat and bad temper but assures visitors that Nigel the boar is quite a mild mannered pig who was named after the head of stock man, Nigel Elliott.
