AN out-of-school club has been praised by Ofsted.
Children who use the Holy Rood club were said to enjoy their time there and were relaxed and happy.
An inspector visited the premises, which is on Shaw Street but operates separately from the junior and infant school, last month.
In the categories such as protecting children from harm, helping them to be healthy and helping them to achieve and enjoy what they do all were found to be good.
The report notes: "Children are cared for in a secure and welcoming environment, where staff give priority to their safety and well-being."
Helping children make a positive contribution was judged to be satisfactory.
To improve further the club has been advised to review the arrangements for maintaining children's security, develop the range of resources and activities and to review the complaints procedure.
There are 70 children who are pupils at the school.
