A WOMBWELL street has been sealed off and police have arrested a man in connection with the murder of a woman this morning.

Officers were alerted to an incident at about 7am this morning when the body of a woman was discovered at a house on Aldham Crescent.

Shortly afterwards the body of a man was found by a walker in Wombwell woods. A man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Chief superintendent Andy Brooke said the scene had been preserved a major incident team had been set up and enquiries are ongoing.

The street is sealed off but from Wombwell Lane it appears the investigation is focussing on a house on the left-hand side of Aldham Crescent.
