SKATERS, bladers and bikers...they were all geared up and raring to go when Darton Skate Park opened to the public.
World No.4 inline blader Jenna Downing did the honours of cutting the ribbon and gave the park her seal of approval by pulling a few blading tricks out of the bag.
She said: "I think it's fantastic for Barnsley to have a top notch facility like this.
"It gets kids off the street and gives them somewhere to go and keeps them fit.
"More places need to see skate parks , it's what kids want to see in their area."
Hundreds of people gathered to see the launch of the £97,000 park on April 3 and it was awash with youngsters on all modes of wheeled transport.
As well as skaters, bladers and bikers waiting their turn to hit the ramps, skating and BMX demonstrations were given by the Avit Extreme Team, and local girl band the Poppichix performed live music.
