The search is on to find Barnsley's baby of the year 2008.

Our annual search to find Barnsley's cutest tot is hotting up, with entries arriving thick and fast into the Chronicle offices. There are some great prizes to be won, so if your child is two or under, why not enter them today?

For the first time ever we are accepting e-mail entries as well as postal ones. Entry details are printed weekly in the Barnsley Chronicle, and the closing date for all entries is 5pm on Thursday October 2, 2008.

All of the entries received will feature in our fantastic full-colour Baby of the Year supplement, which will be free inside the Barnsley Chronicle, on Friday October 10, 2008, and our readers will then vote to reduce the numbers on a weekly basis.

There are some fantastic prizes for the winning tot, including:
A £100 voucher to spend on baby clothes supplied by George at Asda Barnsley. A free sitting and 20x16 framed portrait worth over £200 from Ronnie Neville photography Cudworth. A rocking animal from Barnsley Babyworld, Barnsley. A week's free childcare at Noah's Ark Kindergarten at either Barnsley or Dodworth.

The parent or guardian of the winning tot will also receive a Bush 15in LCD TV worth over £100, sponsored by Haworth News, Cudworth, as well as a free birthday message for their child in the Barnsley Chronicle champagne occasions, for every birthday they celebrate up to the age of 18.
