MUSIC lovers of all ages and genres headed to the old Barnsley Main for BomFest on Saturday.
The main stage was dominated by rock but folk, indie, urban and dance tents provided plenty of choice for those who wanted to hear some alternative sounds.
Barnsley bands were joined by acts from across the country and as far afield as Croatia as they entertained the crowds and quite a few Ardsley residents.
A few keen fans even brought tents and settled into makeshift campsites to make the most of the event.
The bar was serving just beer and larger but many of the revellers had the foresight to bring along their own tipples, with some clearly wishing they could carry their load on the handy quad trailers staff were hurtling around the site on.
For the first time in the festival's four year history, there was an entrance charge because organisers could not raise enough funding to keep the event free.
But neither the small fee nor the threat of rain deterred the public who showed their appreciation by partying until midnight.
