BARNSLEY musicians will be competing for a £1,000 prize at KGV’s battle of the bands final on Thursday. Out of the 30 groups that entered in February, only Green Man Says Go, The Paradigms and Tom Attah remain in the competition.

Mark Horbury, manager of the Peel Street bar, said: “We've been really impressed with the quality of the bands that have entered this year, far and away our best year yet.”

The event, which will also feature guest DJs, starts at 7.30pm.
