MANVERS Green residents' group launched a campaign this week to try to stop the building of a housing development near their homes. The group is fighting to save a piece of green space at Cadman Street, Wath which has been earmarked by Gladedale Homes for 29 dwellings.

THE THURNSCOE youth project is planning to become a limited company to secure its future. At an extraordinary general meeting on Monday voluntary manager Ian Ball outlined a five year proposal which will involve major changes to the club.

LYNDSAY Woolley took her eight- week- old son for his routine injections but he was given the MMR jab by mistake. Instead of being vaccinated for tetanus, polio and dyptheria, Bailey Ray was given the MMR jab which is meant for children aged 13 months and over.
STAFF at the Dearne High School are regularly arranging for children to go to a clinic for the morning after pill following unprotected sex at the weekend. A group of councillors were shocked when, during a visit, staff told them that children went to the school nurse every Monday to get the pill.
A THURNSCOE pensioner has to drag his wheelie bin through his bungalow for collection because he can't get past the rubbish that has been dumped at the side of his home. Reg Dixon, of Butcher Street, says that when the adjoining pizza takeaway closed down three months ago piles of tyres, shards of broken glass, a fridge freezer, cardboard, binbags or rubbish and vats of cooking fat were dumped in an alley behind the shop.
