London to Barnsley relocation for firm

THEY'RE finding that it's not so grim up north.

That's the staff from London design agency Carbon Cube Design who have relocated to the Barnsley Digital Media Centre (DMC).

The agency, which was set up seven years ago, is the only business in the UK that specialises solely in designing and producing personalised Oyster Card holders for London businesses.

The business has enjoyed working with companies such as Skype, NHS, Starbuck, and West Ham Football Club.

The decision was made to relocate from London to Barnsley earlier this year to help cut costs, enhance communications with its Yorkshire-based supplier, and expand the business's client portfolio in the north.

Gareth Scargill, DMC centre manager, said: "I'm thrilled to be welcoming Carbon Cube Design into the centre and it's incredible to have a London business choosing Barnsley as its new base."
