Dog owners encouraged to attend Paws in the Park

By stephanie daley, Assistant Editor Friday 29th August 2014
DOG owners are being encouraged to join Barnsley Hospice's sponsored dog walk — Paws in the Park at 12 noon on Sunday at Cannon Hall.

Paws in the Park sponsored dog walk will give dog owners a choice of a two-and-a-half mile or four mile walk around the grounds of Cannon Hall Country Park and Cawthorne.

Adding to the family fun will be balloon sculpture and face painter for children and those young at heart.

Entries for Paws in the Park are available on the day for £6 from 11am until 12pm at the Deer Shelter on the main path.

Barnsley Hospice will be collecting donations of clothing on the day. Walkers and visitors to Cannon Hall are being encouraged to have a clear-out and bring anything they no longer wear to be donated to the hospice to help fund exceptional care for patients at life's end.

Barnsley Hospice can raise an average of £19 for every bag of good quality clothes donated which can fund craft materials for a bereaved child to use in a bereavement support session.
