Ex-fireman battles breast cancer

By Lynsey Bradford, Town Reporter Friday 29th August 2014

FORMER fireman Ross Buckley is by his own admission 'a man's man'.

So when he was diagnosed with breast cancer, he was staggered.

Ross, 68, of Myrtle Street, Barnsley, was diagnosed in April after discovering a lump.

He had banged himself against a car door, and noticed the lump gradually got bigger.

"It's traumatic enough being diagnosed with cancer, but to find out it was breast cancer - I was absolutely gobsmacked," Ross said.
