STAR Wars' fan Alex Dodson has come up with an out of this world way of 'upcycling' old gas bottles.

The technology teacher has transformed boring metal cylinders into Darth Vader-themed wood burning stoves/patio heaters.

The results are so stunning fans have been snapping them up like hot cakes since the 32-year-old from Hoyland offered them for sale on the internet.

He has collected hundreds of gas bottles to create more Vader stoves/heaters- and plans to also create ones that look like Storm Troopers and R2D2.

The BBC showed a prog a few months ago where someone was upcycling gas bottles. They quickly withdrew it when it was pointed out to them that copycats could kill or seriously injure themselves if there is just the tiniest bit of gas left in the bottle. Maybe the full story in the Chron will have a warning.

My mistake, it was Channel 4 not BBC. And it's also illegal. Google gas cylinder dismantling for the proof.

Where's the finished picture? All I see is a man cutting a gas cylinder with a grinder.
