Youngster rewarded for perfect attendance

By Alison Burkinshaw, Royston Reporter Friday 8th August 2014

TEN-year-old Ross Ritchie was ecstatic to receive a bike from Milefield Primary School for not have a single day off school.

Ross's mum Heather McHardy said the whole family were so pleased that his 100 per cent attendance for the last school year had been recognised by the school.

"We are all so proud of him words can't explain.

"Ross was absolutely over the moon. His name was pulled out of a box in assembly and he just couldn't believe it or get his head around it.

"We then got to go down to Halfords, and Ross got to pick out his own bike.

"Now we've got it home we can't get him off it, he's just been stuck to it."
