Official opening for Hospice extension

By gail robinson, Town Reporter Friday 4th July 2014

BARNSLEY Hospice has marked 20 years since it opened its doors with the opening of its latest extension.

The £700,000 project, which has been mainly funded by the NHS, has created a new patient lounge and dining area, spiritual room and new treatment rooms.

Staff say this will enable the hospice to provide more care to patients and their families in Barnsley who have a life limiting illness.

The new extension was opened by the Deputy Lieutenant of South Yorkshire, Barry Eldred, the Mayor of Barnsley, Coun Tim Shepherd and Frank Carter.
