LOCAL organisations raised thousands for charity in a virtual cycling challenge.

They all geared up as part of the one great day event at the Alhambra Centre in Barnsley. Five teams battled it out as part of the five hour long cycling event to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital and local charity Tiny Hearts Foundation, which is part of the Barnsley Hospital Charity.

The event, alongside an additional golf day raised around £3,000 for the two charities and was hosted by Barnsley's own Keith Lemon impersonator, Dean Taylor, whowas even asked for autographs and pictures.
