MONEY seized from criminals is funding a new Chronicle campaign that will help the elderly and vulnerable stay safe in their own homes by providing them with security alarm systems.

Police and Crime Commissioner Shaun Wright has put £10,000 in to kick off the campaign, which is cash taken directly from criminals under the proceeds of crime act.

There will be a simple process to apply for the basic security systems, which will be fitted for free by local firm Dudley-Stott Electrical, run by Adam Stott and Liam Dudley who are donating their time for free to fit the alarms.

More details on the applications process will follow shortly.
