Barnsley nurse a cut above

FORMER Barnsley girl Annie Davies proved she is a cut above by making it on to a television programme looking to find Britain's best amateur hairdresser.

Annie can be seen in BBC Three programme Hair, which sees eight contestants battle it out for the title.

Annie, 24, from the town centre, has always enjoyed styling people's hair and even set up a blog showcasing her talents after continually being asked how she does her hair. She is a critical care nurse at Leeds General Infirmary.

"It's something I've always been into. I'm always doing my own hair, doing my friends' hair and everyone always says I should have been a hairdresser. When I saw the competition I knew it was perfect for me."

Hair is on BBC Three, Tuesdays, 9pm.
