Stolen slide replaced by council

A SLIDE stolen from Hoyle Mill children's play area has been replaced, despite initial fears it couldn't because of the cost.

It follows requests from families whose children were missing the slide which was stolen two weeks ago.

However, Central ward councillors raised the funds required and, working with the council's parks services, have replaced the slide.

Coun Margaret Bruff said: "It's disgraceful someone would deprive children of play equipment by stealing a slide but thankfully we have managed to replace it on this occasion.

"I know that it will be enjoyed by many children."
