THE FAMILY of a woman who has been jailed for cooking her pet kitten in the microwave claim she should have been sectioned instead of jailed and say she's been failed by mental health experts.

Laura Cunliffe, 23, was jailed this week but her family says the public outcry over the case has seen her issued with death threats.

Her family believe she should have been offered more support to deal with her mental health issues and say she's been let down by the system.

The Barnsley Chronicle has a full in depth report - plus exclusive interviews with the family - in tomorrow's paper.
