Ice-cream licking record attempt planned

By ashley ball, Wombwell/Dearne Reporter Friday 7th March 2014
Pd48809-2 An ice-cream licking contest will come to Womfest.

ORGANISERS of a music festival think they've got their latest plan licked - by aiming to break an ice-cream licking record.

Organisers of Womfest are attempting to get the longest chain of people licking an ice cream during the event, to be held on July 26 and 27.

The current record is 2,728 and was set in Portstewart, Northern Ireland, in July 2011.

Organiser Tony Plunkett, 46, is confident the record can be beaten. "To set a world record would be a great achievement and would ensure more people came back the year after."
