Traveller family reveals church plan

By ashley ball, Wombwell/Dearne Reporter Monday 24th February 2014

A TRAVELLER family from Brierley has bought the former Methodist Church in Grimethorpe and intends to reopen it as a Light and Life Mission church.

The new owners have told the Chronicle the building on St Luke's Road, which closed last year due to falling numbers, will be open to everyone, not just the travelling community, within five to six weeks.

Dave Connor, 50, of Cliff Lane, Brierley, says he believes God wants him to have a church in Grimethorpe.

The full story appears in the Barnsley Chronicle, dated February 21.
