A Monk Bretton couple will take part in the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend next month.
Simon Hegarty, 42, a salesman at Burrows Toyota, and wife Sally, 36, a solicitor, are raising money for Yorkshire Cancer Research.
They will both take part in the main event, the marathon, but Simon will be completing the whole weekend of events - 5k, 10k, half marathon and marathon races. Sally said: "This really is a huge challenge for us both and we'd love to make our efforts count.
"Knowing that we're doing something to help others will keep us going over the next couple of months as we train through the miserable English winter weather."
Simon also serves as a special police constable, and was in the Chronicle last year when he won an award for resuscitating a little boy in the bus station. He is also preparing to run the London Marathon for a second time in April.
People can sponsor them at their fundraising website here.
