An ambitious five-year-old is attempting to make the whole world his pen pal by writing to people in every one of its 193 countries.
Toby Little, from Bolsterstone, came up with the idea himself and now corresponds with whole school classes, aid workers and even the president of the Pacific island of Kiribati.
He has already completed more than three quarters of his challenge by writing nearly 200 letters to 164 different countries, but needs help finding friends in a number of countries, including Burundi, Laos and
"It's really tricky to find people in every country, but lots of people are helping me," he said.
"I want to know how people live, and what food they
eat, and what school is like. I write all letters by hand."
Toby has also chosen charity ShelterBox, which provides emergency shelter and supplies for families affected by disasters, to benefit from his endeavours.
He has set up a sponsorship website and has already raised more than £400 of the £590 required to buy a ShelterBox, which contains items including a tent, blankets and cooking utensils.
Mum Sabine said: "I must say how fantastic it has been that people from all over the world have decided to support a little boy.
"We've been truly humbled by the experience, and I can say in all honesty that it has been the most life-affirming project I have ever been involved in.
"Toby is illustrating just how much love and support there is in this world."
