A Grimethorpe school has been praised by the deputy Prime Minister for its work with disadvantaged children.
In a letter Nick Clegg wrote to Milefield Primary, the Lib Dem leader congratulated staff on the improvements made to the results of pupils eligible for pupil premium, which is additional funding given to schools to support disadvantaged pupils.
The letter says Milefield is among the top performing schools when it comes to boosting performance.
Headteacher Paula Murray said the school was really pleased to receive the letter from Mr Clegg, adding: "This is an outstanding achievement.
"I am extremely proud of the team at Milefield for their commitment to the children and families the school serves, and I am delighted to be part of it.
"Mr Clegg acknowledges the hard work of pupils, parents and governors and I agree that without all the stakeholders' determination and drive we would
not have these tremendous successes."
