Butcher makes most of scandal with 'cushty' sign

A Royston butcher has found a 'cushty' way to poke fun at the horse meat supermarket scandal.

Jamie Attwood, of Midland Road, has displayed a banner on his shop front with the message 'Only Fools Eat Horses' - a play on word to the popular '80s sitcom starring David Jason.

The banner has been on display since Tuesday.

Jamie said: "It's very much tongue in cheek on the back of the recent scandal."

Jamie says he has noticed a big difference in custom since last month.

The award-winning butcher says last month's sales were up 20 per cent on February last year - although he doesn't know whether he'll keep displaying the banner.

"It's just a bit of fun really," Jamie added.

"I thought it might bring a bit of banter into the shop."
