An actor from Barnsley is recording a charity single to help raise money for the Alzheimer's Society.
Ryan Higgins has recorded a cover of McFly's version of You've Got A Friend and is hoping it could make it into the charts.
Ryan, 24, of Woodhead View, Jump, has appeared alongside big names such as David Jason in ITV dramas and in programmes include Nickelodeon's My Parents are Aliens and Cartoon Network's My Spy Family.
But he's turned his hand to singing to help out a friend whose mum suffers from the disease.
He said: "People know about Alzheimer's and dementia, but there isn't enough information for those who have to care for people with the disease.
"They go through a hard and awful time themselves and there is not a lot of focus on that."
Ryan, who works as a holiday camp entertainer, duets with colleague Natalie Molyneux on the song, and the pair also sing Wish Upon A Star.
The CD also includes Ryan singing That's Life by Frank Sinatra and Natalie singing Adele's Someone Like You.
The You've Got A Friend Campaign was launched by Jill Martin, from Peterborough.
Her mother Peggy, 80, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2008 and vascular dementia a year later.
Jill, who is a full time carer for Peggy, said: "We've been told we need to six and eight thousand sales between the CDs and the downloads and we could enter the charts."
The single is being recorded at G2 Studios on February 2.
