More snow than expected across Barnsley

More snow than expected has fallen in Barnsley overnight.

Penistone was gritted twice because of lying snow and another patrol was carried out at 4am as a precaution.

The Smithies depot gritters were also out last night.

Today, there are two gritters on patrol from Smithies depot and two from Penistone, both covering secondary routes.

Waste Services is also being assisted with safe passage for refuse vehicles.
