GRITTERS will be out in Barnsley tonight to prepare for this weekend's expected snowfall.
Barnsley Council have been making preparations in response to the latest Met Office weather forecast, which suggests the borough will see more snow tomorrow and over the weekend.
Gritting lorries will set off from Penistone at 4pm and Smithies depot at 6pm.
A spokeswoman from the council said: "This coverage will give the borough a head start should forecasted snow arrive.
"At present, that snow is predicted to be heaviest in the Penistone area, which may cause disruption.
"Updates from Waste Management regarding their collections will be made available via the council website and on the council’s Facebook and Twitter sites."
