Marshals who helped people get home safely by taxi after an evening in Barnsley town centre over Christmas have been thanked for their work.
Coun Charles Wraith, Chairman of the General Licensing Board, said the council had received no reports of incidents on either of the town centre taxi ranks, at Midland Street and New Street.
The service provided by taxi marshals working at Christmas and other busy times in the events calendar was now increasingly recognised and appreciated by the general public, he explained.
"I would also like to thank all private hire and Hackney Carriage drivers for their hard work over the festive period - transporting people home at the end of their evening," he added.
"Customer feedback suggests that, once again, the marshals were very well received, well organised and a welcome presence at the end of an evening."

Thankyou on behalf of the taxi marshals for your kind words.
