A businessman's dream new home has not left some of his neighbours best pleased after he chose distinctive green tiles to clad his roof with.
Ian Grummett has been busy having his detached home in the affluent top end of Wood Walk, Wombwell, refurbished after buying it in June last year.
But his choice of colours caused a stir as other houses on the road are clad in regulation brick colour.
His next door neighbour, Vera Johnson, 89, who has lived on the street for the past 50 years said: ''I thought it looked like a doll's house when I saw them going up.
''Everybody who passes by comments on them and asks how it is that the council has allowed him to do that. I don't like green tiles, it looks so odd and a bit of an eyesore.''
Mr Grummett, who runs a scaffolding business and lives in the area, said: ''I think the tiles look brilliant. I like them myself. I have not heard any negative comments myself and a lot of people say how nice they look.''

They look alright to me. Wish there was more land with planning permission so that land prices were brought down and so that more people could build their own houses!
