People across Barnsley have reported seeing a 'meteor' light up the sky on Friday.
It was seen by people in Cudworth and Lundwood, to Pogmoor and Barugh Green.
Hannah Taylor and her husband Mark, saw a 'flaming object' over Pogmoor just before 11pm.
Hannah said: "It was dropping debris all the time and we wondered if it was an aeroplane in trouble or a piece of space junk that had fallen to Earth.
"The eerie thing was that it made no noise."
It was first thought the ball of light was a meteorite, but is now thought to have been space junk.

I was walking the dog in Harlington when it came across. At first I thought someone had set off a skyrocket but there was no noise, and it kept going until it disappeared out of sight. that was around 11pm also.
