Barnsley voters will soon be able to have their say on who should lead the South Yorkshire police service.
A new police and crime commissioner will be elected in 100 days' time, on Thursday, November 15.
The commissioner will replace the Police Authority and be responsible for holding the force and the chief constable to account. The commissioner will also set the budget, the council tax precept and approve a police and crime plan.
A new chief executive and treasurer will be appointed to support the commissioner.
Candidates can be nominated until October 19.
